The school offers an Instrumental Music Program during school time, using Private Providers.

The program runs 8 - 10 lessons a term. Instruments offered are:

          Year                     Instrument

Years 3-7           Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Vocals,

    Years R-7           Acoustic Guitar, Keyboard

If you would like your child to learn a musical instrument during school time, please contact the school for an application form.

If places are available students will begin the term following receipt of their application. The application form will be passed on to the individual teacher concerned who will contact you to confirm a day and time for the student's lesson and to arrange for payment of fees.

Fees are specific to each instrumental teacher, however, as a guideline the following applies:

  • $15.00 for a shared lesson of 30 minutes per week consisting of two students, or

  • $22.00 for individual lesson of 30 minutes per week

Fees can be paid each term or before each lesson, either to the instrumental music teacher or may be dropped into the school office. Fees are due and payable on receipt of the student's first lesson. If payment is not received within a two week time frame, parents will be contacted and lessons may be stopped.

Instrument rental information can be accessed by contacting Sue Legierski at the school or by clicking on the Hire Options link below.

School Rock Band

Guitar teacher, Joel Cooke is the leader of the school rock band. Students of the Instrumental Music Program who have shown a commitment to the learning of their chosen instrument are invited to audition for this band.  Auditions may be opened, at times, to all students at Epps.  Band sessions will not be charged for and will require lunch time and out of school hours commitment.

Parents can look forward to students performing at our music evenings which showcase how students have progressed during the year and at the school concert as skill levels grow.  The rock band also plays at community events including the Festival of Music, fairs, Christmas parades, and is eager for any opportunity to perform.

PRACTICE makes perfect! There is an expectation that students taking part in instrumental lessons at school will practise at home.  Therefore students will need to have access to their chosen instrument at home.
